59th Annual Juried Competition

About the Exhibition:

The Masur Museum of Art’s Annual Juried Competition showcases contemporary artists throughout the United States of America working in any medium. First started in 1964, the Annual Juried Competition is the Masur Museum’s longest-running tradition and one of its best-reviewed exhibitions each year. Annually, 700-1000 recent artworks are submitted by artists all over the nation, in all styles and media.

Announcing this year’s guest juror:
Susan Baley
The Annual Juried Competition is also a chance to exhibit some of the United States’ best curatorial talent. This year, the Masur Museum is excited to invite Susan Baley to judge the submitted artworks and select the cash award winners. Susan Baley returned to Oklahoma in November 2018 to become the Executive Director of 108 Contemporary. Located in the Tulsa Arts District, 108 Contemporary provides exhibition space for the most innovative contemporary craft from Oklahoma and around the world, exposing the region to the world of fine craft. The nonprofit gallery is known for its community partnerships that connect vulnerable populations with contemporary craft. Currently, Baley is the Director of Grinnell College Museum of Art in Grinnell, IA.
