The Masur Museum of Art offers a variety of outreach programs to our community at little to no cost. We are available by appointment to lead art activities or presentations about the museum to area schools, universities, community centers, civic groups or clubs, senior centers, other cultural centers, or youth groups such as the YMCA and scouting organizations.
Other outreach opportunities that are available by appointment include:
- Art project parties at area schools for students who meet their Accelerated Reader goals.
- Special event days at areas school (career day, etc.)
- After school programs at area schools
- Community events (Black Bayou Fall Celebration, Boo at the Zoo, etc)
- And more!

Bernard Mattox is a New Orleans-based artist who specializes in multi-media and ceramics. His work blends the vibrant imagery reminiscent of New Orleans street-life with totem-like figures that call to mind tribal imagery.

About the Exhibition
The Masur Museum of Art’s Annual Juried Competition showcases contemporary artists throughout the United States of America working in any medium. First started in 1963, the Annual Juried Competition is the Masur Museum’s longest-running tradition and one of its best-reviewed exhibitions each year.
