Marcus Kenney: Almanac 2020
The Masur Museum of Art presents Marcus Kenney’s singular vision of art history and American culture. You will be intrigued by his use of popular imagery, found objects, and social commentary. His diverse interests and varied pictorial subject matter provide audiences with multiple means of entry into his iconographical world. Kenney, who was raised in North Louisiana and now lives in Georgia, has had solo exhibitions in New York, Boston, New Orleans, and Atlanta. In addition to exhibiting his work in various cities throughout the United States, he has also exhibited in Paris, London, and Montreal. Kenney’s work has been featured in Art in America, Oxford American, The New York Sun, The Boston Globe, Art Papers, New American Paintings, and National Public Radio. Programs of the Twin City Art Foundation are supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council.
