Ron Adams is a renowned contemporary printmaker who trained widely in a variety of technical printmaking methods and techniques. While studying at the University of Mexico in the late 1960s, Adams designed the decorations for the Mexico City Olympic Stadium. He also notably collaborated with the likes of John Biggers and Judy Chicago and his work was among a travelling exhibition of prints and drawings sent by the State Department to the USSR in 1966. Since retiring from commercial printmaking, Adams has focused on producing his own artwork, participating in artist-in-residence programs, and exhibiting his work. He is celebrated for his powerful and personal depictions of African Americans, and his prints can be found in dozens of important American institutions.
