Richard Buswell is a Helena, Montana based physician and photographer who uses black and white photography to document the passing of time. His subjects often include items which have become dilapidated through years of non-use, possibly left behind by Montana’s early miners and homesteaders.
As is seen in Cash Register, Buswell has a unique way of viewing old and often discarded items. The style of this register is old fashioned and is no longer relevant in our modern society. Where some may see an outdated relic covered with dust and cobwebs, Buswell finds an object of beauty and perhaps nostalgia.
