A fire in our collections storage facility in April 2017 left a large portion of our Permanent Collection covered in a fine layer of greasy, acidic soot. For over a year, our conservation technicians and volunteers worked tirelessly to clean and conserve the affected artworks in our on-site Conservation Lab. We are happy to report we have now finished the cleaning and conservation and our art is now being re-framed for display! You can view a portion of our Permanent Collection from through February 9, 2019 in "En plein air: The Artist and the Natural World," as well as a large exhibition of our Modern and Contemporary work from May - Aug 2019.
But as we're now searching for a new permanent home for our collection, we face new financial challenges in storing and caring for our artwork. If you would like to make a donation towards these efforts, please click here or call the museum at 318-329-2237.
