SPECIAL UPDATE: the Masur Museum suffered damage to the building in a tornado on April 12 and will be temporarily closed until further notice while we undergo necessary repairs.

Located in the former home of the Masur family, the Masur Museum of Art is the largest collecting and exhibiting visual arts museum in Northeast Louisiana. We are dedicated to providing our community with a dynamic visual arts experience through exhibitions, public programming, and collections management.

The Masur Museum of Art offers educational programs for children and adults such as artist talks, academic lectures, summer art camps, winter workshops, drop-in activities, and art classes including digital photography, painting, collage, printmaking, stained glass, book making, and more.

Admission to our museum is always free. Please visit our Education section for information on group tours.

A fire in our collections storage facility in April 2017 left a large portion of our Permanent Collection covered in a fine layer of greasy, acidic soot. For over a year, our conservation technicians and volunteers worked tirelessly to clean and conserve the affected artworks in our on-site Conservation Lab. We are happy to report we have now finished the cleaning and conservation and our art is now being re-framed for display!

But as we're now searching for a new permanent home for our collection, we face new financial challenges in storing and caring for our artwork. If
you would like to make a donation towards these efforts, please click here or call the museum at 318-329-2237.
