$135 for museum members/ $155 for non-members


What you learn:
In this workshop, participants will make two books. The first book will be a simple hardbound, pamphlet stitch book. The second book will be a more complex Coptic hardbound book. All the essential bookmaking materials and tools will be provided. No previous experience is necessary. Students will have a good foundation in bookmaking after completing this workshop. There will be an hour break for lunch.

About Frank Hamrick:
Frank Hamrick is an associate professor of photography and book arts at Louisiana Tech University. His work mixes image making, storytelling, letterpress, handmade books and found objects. His art is influenced from his additional work at venues including the Penland School of Crafts, the Maine Media Workshops, Hatch Show Print, Nexus Press, the New Orleans Photo Alliance and the University of Georgia’s study abroad program in Cortona, Italy. His photographs and handmade books have been in numerous publications and exhibitions and housed in permanent collections including the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans. His work has received national attention from NPR and Oxford American Magazine, who named Frank as one of the 100 under 100: The New Superstars of Southern Art. Frank received his BFA from The University of Georgia and his MFA from New Mexico State University.
