Overview The Masur Museum of Art is offering a new six week college-style workshop that teaches students the very basics of painting a still life. The students will walk away from this class with the ability and confidence to create beautiful paintings of their own for years to come.
Goals Each student will walk away with three still life paintings at the end of the course, but with the ability to create more after the course is finished. Students will learn how to create space and form on a canvas, and how the illusion of light and atmosphere is created by understanding value and color.
Experience Level This workshop is a beginner course. No previous experience in painting is required. The instructor will teach students everything they need to know in order to become confident painters.
*Students are responsible for bringing their own supplies. The instructor will communicate with students by email before the first class with more information on materials.
